I was born in Tarragona in 1971 and I have lived in Madrid for more than 15 years. I started to study computer science, but I knew right away that my thing was (it always had been) music and I have been a professional bassist and double bass player for 25 years. I have studied at the Taller de Músics (Barcelona). I have also studied harmony with Lluís Vergés and electric bass with Pep Pérez Cucurella. In September 1998 I received a scholarship from the Berklee College of Music where I had the opportunity to study with Óscar Stagnaro (Paquito d'Rivera). I have participated in groups of pop, rock, bossa nova, jazz, punk, flamenco, children's entertainment, traditional music, folk, Latin jazz ... Almost everything.

 

Nowadays I am teaching at COMBO in Madrid and before I have been a teacher in several schools in Tarragona and Madrid such as the Escuela de Nuevas Músicas, teaching instrument and combo classes. I have recorded a score of CD's with different artists and styles. I have participated as arranger and producer of the CD "Gent del carrer" from "la Cafetera Exprés". I have composed the music for several short films and for two plays, the most recent is "La desconocida", about the poetry of Pessoa by Beatriz Rodríguez and premiered at POEMAD / 2018. My latest work as an arranger can be heard on the Sagra Mielgo CD "FÁCIL".

I have recently became part of the great band  LOS TOREROS MUERTOS. I am playing bass and double bass at the musical CHARLIE Y LA FÁBRICA DE CHOCOLATE. Also the bassist in the cover band THE HOT TUBES and a member of th PEPE CARMONA TRIO in which we perform flamenco-jazz. I also accompany the singers José Mora, Rash, Bel.

 

I have played with the band EDU SOTO & DELAROOM.  Before that with PIPI (ex SKA-P) in his band THE LOCOS. I have also played in Nuevo Ballet Español, with Javier Paxariño and with the Goya-winning cantaor JJChaleco . I have worked as a musician in several awards ceremonies such as the Forqué , Max and Ceres theatre awards. I have also been a bass player in various Jazz-flamenco bands such as the Tuti Fernández quintet or the Miguel Reyes Sextet. Within the musical theater I have recently participated in “BILLY ELLIOT” and in “33 EL MUSICAL” (Toño Casado). Previously I played in “LA CARTA DE LOS 80” (double bass player) and in the musical “MI HERMANO ES UN MODERNO” (Secun de la Rosa). I have been playing also with some songwriters as Marwan, Luis Ramiro, Miguel Dantart, Carlos DeFrance (Objetivo Birmania), Laura Granados, among others.

I have also played the electric bass in film and television productions such as Secun de la Rosa's debut feature “EL COVER” (forthcoming) or the movie “YUCATÁN” (2018, Dir. Daniel Monzón). This summer of 2020 you can see me in the program " Improvisando " on Antena 3.

 

As a double bass player I have recorded for the film “EL LINCE PERDIDO” (2008, Dir. Raúl García, Manuel Sicilia) and “AMIGOS” (2011, Marcos Cabotá, Borja Manso).
